Specchia is located in the heart of the most authentic part of the Salento, on a hill covered with olive trees, 189 meters above sea level and at the foot of the Serra Magnone, one of the highest points of the province.

Situated in a strategic position dominating the valley below, Specchia's historic center is considered to be among the most beautiful of the Salento. The narrow streets, closed to traffic and periodically interrupted by flights of steps, contain a set of houses renovated according to strict criteria respecting the original architecture, making it charming and distinctive.

The area from Montesano to Specchia is one of the most beautiful and fertile ones of the province of Lecce. The landscape is delightful and picturesque. The lines of the hill and of the undulating land are in graceful harmony with each other and with the vegetation, composed almost entirely of trees encircling the village. The fields are surrounded by hedges, ferns, melilot and are glazed by the emerald green of the grass or by the color variations of the natural vegetation.

Only 50km away from Lecce, it is one of the most beautiful villages of Italy. A few kilometers further is another fascinating little village, Tricase Porto. And 20km away is the beautiful and famous Gallipoli.
